Youth Trips – Summer 2010 – Save the Date!

June 20-25, 2010: Asheville Youth Mission: Creative Crossroads. This is a new program based out of Asheville, NC.  Everyday the youth will go out into the community and participate in a variety of projects. At the end of the day debriefing and Bible study is done using the Arts.  This is an exciting opportunity for our youth to see a new part of the country and express themselves in an artistic way!

July 11-17, 2010: Montreat Youth Conference in Montreat, NC, for rising freshmen-graduating seniors.

July 20-24, 2010: Triennium – Presbyterian youth from around the country will travel to Perdue University in Indiana for an engaging week of worship, fellowship, and study. Youth from National Capital Presbytery will take a bus and go as a group.

Children and Youth Sunday School Offering: Check out the bulletin board at the bottom of the stairs in the education wing to see how the children and youth are filling the barn yard. For each dollar in Sunday School offering, a baby chick will be purchased through Heifer International to support our global family. In September the offering was enough to send 2 flocks of 20 chics!

Youth and Stewardship of the Grounds: Did you know that the youth spent an afternoon caring for the
grounds of the Memorial Garden? After their experiences last summer at Heifer and Montreat, they wanted to find ways to give back to the church. This is one way they are doing so!

  • To Connect youth ministry to the whole church, the community, and the world through a balanced program of worship, mission, service, study, and fellowship.

  • To Include all young people, be it Saint Mark youth, their friends, and community youth, reaching out and inviting them, each in their own way, to belong to the community of faith
